First of all – thank you so much for visiting! Throughout this website, you’ll see multiple acronyms used to describe certain associations, career positions and the like. Below is a quick list of the meaning of each acronym for you to come back to in case you don’t know what they mean, or simply forget.

OACYC – Ontario Association of Child and Youth Care

CYCP – Child and Youth Care Practitioner

CYW – Child and Youth Worker (note that, currently, the use of this term is becoming greatly overshadowed by CYCP, because of the connotation of the title “worker” compared to the more dedicated, passionate “practitioner”)

ECE – Early Childhood Education/Educator

EA – Educational Assistant

SSW – Social Service Worker

DSW – Developmental Service Worker
