” My idea of quality childcare is following the child’s interest and providing the necessary tool(s) to extend their learning. Providing a safe place for the children to feel comfortable using their voice while being

respected as a citizen. Guiding them to build essential life skills for their use in the future!”

(Dietze & Kashin, 2016).

Maggie McMahon

My name is Maggie McMahon and I have aspired for my passion to be teaching young children their essential life skills, early development, empathy, and self regulation! I work my attitude around positivity while seeing any new challenges as an opportunity for learning and over-coming situations. Being with children has opened my mind about the way we see their lives, problems, and them as their own individual citizen on this planet. With this experience, it has taught me to open my heart to them, offer love, acceptance, patience, and a feeling of safety.

My two years spent at Fleming, as well as working as a supply Educator, inspired my passion to grow and I was able to begin my journey of developing effective strategies, tools, and resources to look to when applying it to education. As I begin my new chapter as a Registered Early Childhood Educator, I know that my knowledge, courage, and confidence in this field will grow with my experience. I am excited to spend every day learning with children!
