In Anne Lamont’s 1994 book Baby Bird she stresses the importance of allowing the child within to write the first draft. Taking a child like approach to the process allows for ideas to flow, doesn’t need to follow any structure and contains no limits. Like in everything the foundation gets built first, taking the “Child’s” approach means making it as broad as possible for you to build on. This individual brain storming exercise maximizes the value of the first step, trickles down to the next steps and results in the best possible final product.
