My species profile is on the ruby-throated hummingbird. I found an article about the bird from Cornell University, the article contains a brief description of the bird. The description talks about what continents the bird lives on, what the bird eats, and where it migrates to in the early fall. It also talks about how to attract these birds to your backyard, like what feeders to use and how to prepare the feeder mix. The article also discusses some “cool facts” about the bird such as the average wingspan and the age of the oldest living bird.
Currency: The information is fairly current as the article was published or last revised in 2017. This doesn’t affect the information very much because of the topic. this article does not contain links I think this is because it is a university and they have conducted their own research.
Relevance: This relates to my topic obviously because it’s about the species im researching. The intended audience is bird connoisseurs or people looking for a brief understanding of the bird. The information is fairly easy to understand yet not too simple
Authority: this article was published by Cornell University. Im not sure the authors name but they are affiliated with Cornell University which makes them qualified. No contact info
Accuracy: not sure where the info is from there are no links. the info is supported by research of the university. the tone is unbiased. only scammed through it but I didn’t see any spelling or grammar errors
Purpose: The purpose is to inform and teach. The intention of the article is clear. The article is fact oriented not propaganda. No political, ideological, cultural, political, or institutional biases
