The organization in my discourse community that I feel excels at what they do is Lush Cosmetics. Lush Cosmetics is a very large cosmetic company that sells organic and vegan products ranging from bath bombs, soaps, and even make-up.

The CEO of lush is Mark Constantine and was founded 23 years ago. Mark who is a trichologist, met a beauty therapist named Liz Weir in a hair and beauty salon in Poole, UK. They decided to create a business together selling natural hair and beauty products.

For me personally, I look up to them because they had a small dream and made it into the largest and most successful all natural and vegan cosmetic product organization known today. I use their products daily and love everything about them. They are the official creators of the “bath bomb”, and are known worldwide for being only one of the few where a of their ingredients are completely natural and not tested on animals. They really care about what they use in their products, and have people on their team who travel the world looking for different ingredients that no one else uses, and they also look at how they can create businesses for smaller countries around the world by creating partnerships with harvesters and farmers.

Lush Cosmetics is known for their amazing charity work that they do every month. They have created their own charity body cream called the “Charity Pot”, and the proceeds go to a specific organization of that month. For example, Lush has donated to the LGBTQ rights foundation, wildlife organizations, Cancer, and the list goes on. To date, Lush has donated 35 million dollars already from their charity pot.  “Charitable giving is at the heart of our business. We believe it’s our responsibility to advocate for the environment, animals and people in need, as well as giving back to organizations locally and around the world. We do this through our Charity Pot program, Sustainable Lush Fund, FunD and our people.” -Lush Cosmetics

With 670 shops Worldwide, the products they have created tat has paved the way for cosmetics, and with their respect for our planet and animals, they have proven to be one of the most powerful influencers in the business. They are at the top of the top, and it will only get better from here. They are constantly continuing to expand their line of products, try different and new things that no one has done before, all while making their products the best while keeping them at an affordable price. Their determination, ideas, work ethic, and business strategies inspire me evetyday to work harder and think outside the box.
