Protein biochemist with extensive working knowledge of molecular biology. I have worked with a variety of systems including Arabidopsis, tobacco, rice, E. coli, yeast (S. cerevisiae), Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and mammalian cells (CHO, mouse macrophage, and human lung cells, including models for cystic fibrosis). I believe my strengths lie in my research, lab management/organization skills, and my ability to work with others and communicate scientific knowledge. I have a great deal of experience communicating scientific knowledge and teaching. I have attended and presented at numerous conferences at the national and international level. I also have 7 years experience as a laboratory demonstrator/coordinator and was integral in designing, creating, and running a third year techniques course in biochemistry and molecular biology.
Specialties: I have over 10 years of laboratory experience spanning organic chemistry, molecular biology, protein biochemistry, and plant biochemistry.
I have trained undergraduate and graduate students and have always been involved in lab management.
I thrive at working in a fast-paced environment and am able to manage several research projects at once, maintaining priorities and always meeting deadlines.
