Admissions and Aid

Applying to College

Apply for a full-time program online at the Ontario College Application Service (ontariocolleges.ca) website. February 1 is a key date to note. Applications that are received on or before this date will be regarded as having arrived on the same date. This means the date of submission, if it is before February 1, will not be an admission factor. Applications received after February 2 will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis.

February 1 is also the earliest admission offer date for applications to programs starting in September. Offers of admission to over-subscribed programs are sent beginning in mid-February. Offers of admission will continue to be processed until programs are filled or wait-lists are established.

Make Sure You Meet Admissions Requirements

If you are still in school or completing some of the admissions requirements for your program, you likely received an offer that was ‘conditional’ upon completion of those requirements. Make sure that you will meet all admissions requirements for your program and that you have submitted all required documentation by the start of class.

The specific admission requirements for the IBM (International Business Management) course must meet the following requirements:

Applicants are required to have an Undergraduate degree or Ontario College diploma in any discipline.

International students or those whose primary language isn’t English may need to provide proof of English language proficiency. This could be demonstrated through standardized tests like IELTS, TOEFL, or others.

Submission of transcripts or academic records from previous education to showcase academic performance.

Applicants who do not meet the requirements listed above and who possess a combination of education and relevant experience may be considered on an individual basis.

Scholarships and Bursaries

We have approximately $2 million available annually for student bursaries and scholarships. Registered students with an active timetable are eligible to apply for all bursaries that are administered by the college though a single on-line bursary application. Go to the Scholarships and Bursaries page.

Financial Aid for New Students Attending post-secondary is one of the biggest financial decisions you will make. The Financial Aid Office can assist you by providing you with financial options to help fund your college education and ensure your success at Fleming.

Step 1: Prepare your Budget To begin, prepare your budget using the Budget Calculator.

Step 2: Apply for OSAP Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) You can apply for OSAP funding as soon as the applications are available – usually around the middle of April or early May of each year. Apply early, at least 10 weeks before the start of classes. Applications for these government-funded loans are available through the OSAP website.

Step 3: Investigate Student Bank Loans These loans vary depending upon the student bank loan program. Interest payments on these loans begin immediately. We encourage you to be a smart shopper – review and compare programs offered by the various banks.

Step 4:  Fleming College offers approximately $2 million annually for student bursaries and scholarships. Funding comes from various sources, including tuition fees, the Advancement & Alumni Relations department, individual donors, and sponsors. Students must apply to be considered for these bursaries. External resources include high school guidance offices, employers, community associations, and professional associations.

Step 5: Pay Your Tuition Pay your tuition deposit and fees by the due dates indicated in your fee letter.

Step 6: Get Help if You Need It If you run into financial difficulty during the academic year: you may be eligible for an Emergency Loan or, if you are in good academic standing you may apply for assistance through the General Bursary Fund (instead of a loan these funds are non-repayable) Information about Emergency Loans or the General Bursary is available through the Financial Aid Office.
