It was somehow cleared that day
when my grandmother died. I saw everybody crying on her funeral, except my grandfather
and my dad. Because they both devoted their life to give her every happiness in
the world, as a loving husband and a sincere son. That day I understood that crying
after death is useless unless you have given love and respect to that person
when he was alive.

The profile written by Brian Cable is a great combination of
ideas, thoughts, values and mainly how different people see a mortuary. Starting
from the title, it is a self-explanatory title that well defines the topic. Also,
the passage is a well written profile as the writer made a great use of poetic
devices. Such as “It looked a bit like a church- tall, with gothic arches”
where a metaphor is used to compare mortuary to a church. And use of
personification in sentence “Come in,” said the sign. “We’re
always open.” Made it more interesting.

It is so well written that a clear picture of the building
is automatically built in the brain of the reader. From “windows stamped out of
red brick” through “lush green lawns and meticulously groomed gardens” to “the
stone steps to the entrance”, it is very well written.
